KELHAM ISLAND ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
WHY HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?
An engagement shoot is a great way for me to get to know my couples and for them to get used to having a camera around them. Lasting approx 1 hour, I’ve shot engagement sessions in the peaks, woodlands and more recently, Kelham Island!
My previous couples have used some of their images from the pre wedding engagement shoot for save-the-date-cards, wedding invitations or even as decor at the wedding reception.

Kelham Island is my favourite place in Sheffield. Located in the heart of the city, it’s a vibrant neighbourhood that boasts rich industrial heritage with a modern urban living area. Along with some of the best street food around, it hosts some great quirky bars serving some amazing craft ales. It’s no wonder Megan & Eric have decided to get married here! Megan & Eric booked me as their wedding photographer, and after our first chat, I knew we were going to vibe instantly!
For the engagement shoot, we took it to Kelham – because, honestly, why not? The night before, Megan & Eric stayed in Kelham Island, where they handmade their wedding rings before hitting the town for a meal and a few drinks. The next morning, I met them for coffee, we talked wedding plans, and then we strolled through the cool, quirky streets of Sheffield.
Along the way, we happened to pass by The Mowbray during an open day, so naturally, we popped in, enjoyed a glass of fizz, and grabbed some awesome shots. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding here!
After that, we stumbled upon Rex Market in Neepsend, where local independent businesses were showcasing their best stuff. We spotted a pizza van, dove in, ate some delicious pizza, had a drink, and talked about our love for dogs.
