WHY HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT SHOOT?

An engagement shoot is a great way for me to get to know my couples and for them to get used to having a camera around them. Lasting approx1 hour, I’ve shot engagement sessions in the peaks, woodlands and more recently, Kelham Island!

My previous couples have used some of their images from the pre wedding engagement shoot for save-the-date-cards, wedding invitations or even as decor at the wedding reception.

KELHAM ISLAND - SHEFFIELD

Kelham Island is my favourite place in Sheffield. Located in the heart of the city, it’s a vibrant neighbourhood that boasts rich industrial heritage with a modern urban living area. Along with some of the best street food around, it hosts some great quirky bars serving some amazing craft ales. It’s no wonder Megan & Eric have decided to get married here! Disclaimer - I’m also getting married here!

THE CHIMNEY HOUSE

The Chimney House in Sheffield is a unique venue that seamlessly blends industrial charm with contemporary style. Situated in the heart of the city, this historic building offers a one-of-a-kind setting for a wide range of events. With its exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and original chimney features, the Chimney House provides a striking backdrop for weddings, corporate functions, and everything in between.

Megan & Eric booked me as their Wedding Photographer and after our initial call I just knew we were going to get along so well! They’re getting married in October this year ‘24 at The Chimney House, before having their reception at The Mowbray.

We decided to have the engagement shoot in Kelham, because why the hell not?! Megan & Eric had a night over in Kelham island the night before, where they HAND MADE their own wedding rings before having a meal out and got drunk. I met up with them the following morning where we had a coffee, chatted about their wedding plans before going for a walk around the quirky streets of Sheffield.

We happened to walk past The Mowbray as they were having an open day so we popped in, had a glass of fizz and got some cool shots. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding here!

After The Mowbray we happened to stumbled across Rex Market in Neepsend which was hosting a number of local, independant business'. Spotting a pizza van we dove in where we ate pizza, had a drink and talked about our love for dogs.

If you are considering having an engagement shoot… JUST DO IT!
